Missional Outreach

God calls us to love and care for our community and world as he does. We believe that the best way to do that is by demonstrating love through service and building authentic relationships. God is using people at Neighborhood Church to bless others throughout our community and world in many different ways.

As a church family we unite together on a few specific projects to bless our community and world. Our desire is to have the entire NC community involved in some way in the following projects:

Serve Visalia is a Sunday morning where we worship a little differently as a church. Instead of having a normal church service with singing and teaching, we partner with other Visalia churches and scatter across the community to serve the people of our city. Last year, five churches and hundreds of people served together for 15 different projects including graffiti clean-up, landscaping the Rescue Mission, projects at various schools, playing with kids and teen moms and much more.
Lunch Buddies is a mentoring initiative that provides a Houston School student with an on-going relationship with a caring adult. Adult volunteers commit to having lunch with a student on a weekly basis for at least a semester. After lunch, there is time to play games or just talk.
By focusing on mentoring, we believe that we work ahead of the problems these kids may face as they become teenagers and adults. Mentoring is a proven method of lowering school dropout rates, curbing youth suicide, and reducing homelessness.
North Visalia has been known for poverty, crime, drugs and gang violence but this neighborhood is changing and hope is spreading. Parents at Houston School are joining together to make life better for their children. They are creating Houston Neighborhood Park – a safe place where families can exercise, play, and be together.

You can join them and together we can change the future of North Visalia
