NC ELDER APPLICATION

The elders serve as the governing board of Neighborhood Church and are comprised of no less than seven people including the Lead and Executive Pastors. Elders function primarily as discerners, shepherds, advisors and as such serve as the conscience and guardians of the church.

In Acts 20:28, Luke writes, “Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers to shepherd the church of God which he purchased with his own blood.”

The Elders evaluate everything that happens according to two criteria:

  • The mission and values of the organization

  • The resources of the organization

In most matters, the Elders have the final say concerning the overall direction of the church.
